Anyone can learn to skate and because ice
skating covers such a diverse range of activities, tastes and fitness
levels, it is an excellent sport for the whole family. Ice skating
consists of a number of disciplines�figure skating, ice hockey and
speed skating.
However to be able to do these ice sports, you
need to learn the basics. Each of Victoria�s ice rinks have opportunities
for this. This page aims to inform you of where you can learn to skate,
the times available and the cost.
Also if you a figure skater
visiting from interstate or overseas, you are welcome to attend any
of the various clubs figure sessions.

The Olympic
Ice Skating Centre is located in the Melbourne suburb of Oakleigh
South. It is located about 40 minutes south east of the CBD
(Melways Ref 78 G2). It is Melbourne's only ice rink.
Skate
School for ages 5-12 years on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from
4.00pm to 5.00pm (lesson time is 4.15pm-4.45pm). $50 for 5 lessons.
Includes Skate Hire
Weekend Group Lessons are held on Saturday
and Sunday mornings for all ages from 9.15am to 10.00am. $17.50 includes
2 hour public session afterwards and Skate Hire
Figure Skating
Session times are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4.00pm to 7.30pm.
Cost is $13.50 per person.

Lessons
- Monday at 5.00pm
- Friday at 5.30pm
- Saturday at 9.30am
- Sunday at 9.30am
Lessons
are held during the figure skating sessions for 1/2 hour. Children
are encouraged to use the full session times to play and practice.
Figure Skating Session times are:
Monday and Friday from 4.00pm
to 6.00pm
Saturday and Sunday from 9.30am to 11.30am, however during
school holidays the session is on from 8.30am to 10.30am.

The very first block of 5
lessons will cost $105 and includes:
- Lessons with Russian Olympic
Accredited Coach Svetlana Vahezenin
- Boot Hire and entry into
the rink
- Aussie Skate Membership which includes booklet
and badge and allows them to be tested.
- Membership for
the Ice Skating Club of Bendigo (ISCB).
This membership is for
the Skater and one parent. Included in the membership are:

After the first block of 5 lessons, the next block
