The Tree

Strong, standing all alone in the middle of a barren field, where no life could thrive
The tree flourished and survived as everything around it withered and died
Supporting itself, with nothing to support it
It weathered many storms, losing limbs and leaves
No longer welcoming to life... Bare branches and weathered bark
Life refused to call the tree home... There it stood, stark...
A sad sight, so barren, so alone...Why let this pitiful tree stand... the next storm its destined to fall
But storm after storm the strength of something that looked so weak prevailed
Thru rain, snow, sleet, and hail
"That poor tree is still standing?" They say when they look, but they are only looking, not really SEEING
They aren't seeing what resides inside
The strong heart of the tree... That supports its weathered appearance
Everyday folks pass by, taking no notice of the magnificent tree, at which life is slowly spawning.
They only look and quickly glance away
Or else its been a site that they pass everyday
Missing the small delicate flowers growing around its base...
Missing the rare beauty it adds to an atmosphere where none exists
Missing the seeds that it drops to create something new
Missing the tiny songbird singing its little lungs out at the top
Passing too quickly to get a chance to see
The beauty that resides within THE TREE

Love

I'll never forge the way your skin felt next to mine
The way your arms embrace me and I was blind... to yesterday or tomorrow, all that mattered was now
And each time you kissed me all I could seem to think was wow
My body seemed to mold with yours...laying next to you...we made the perfect fit
I'd never flet so warm and happy... so perfectly content... Laying there in your arms... if I had the choice I would never move
And lie there the rest of the nite and on into tomorrow and forever and ever...
There's no words to describe the sensation I get from looking in you eyes
Its as if you can see into my soul... and yours connects with mine and once again I am whole
Look at me... let me see your eyes... those diamonds you should never hide
I lay my head on your chest... finally the nagging questions have come to rest
As I run my fingers over you caramel complexion... And let those big soft hands cover every inch of me
I close my eyes and drift away to you whispering sweet words in my ear
Tasting my skin and holding me close
My body has melted into you, two have now become one... there I lay in your arms
And suddenly all is right with the world... YOUR arms that hold me so tight made the world right to this girl

Weaving a Quilt with My Heart Strings

Tiny pieces of fabric, all truly unique
Different shades of beautiful tones
Bejeweled... ragged...worn...soft...silky.. and all in between, tying pieces of themselves together with my heart strings
Bejeweling it with wonderful fragments of themselves and sparkling precious diamonds of eyes... knotting their heart strings with mine... and forever entwining life
My own heart is creating a small but intensified community of dearly loved souls that hold the pieces of me together.... glue that will forever bind.... always walking with me, thru them I live and within them, I live
On smiles and laughter... kisses, secrets, hugs... One I love you... and looks that let us never hafta exactly feel what we had to say... Or was that say what we feel...
A quilt, Pieced together with heart strings...
Forever keeping me warm
