After you give him your story, including the part
about Bill's injuries, he turns toward the window
and sinks into deep thought.
   A few moments later his attention returns to
you.  "All right," he says, "this is how it is: As I
mentioned earlier, I have a plan to organize the
freed slaves into a revolt.  Now that you  have 
dropped in, it might be a good moment to put it in
action.  If it works, we could do the Omicron Mas-
ters a great damage.  On the other hand, if your
friend is in as much danger as you say he is, you
may prefer to take him and yourself to safety. To
be perfectly honest, if I were you, that's what I
would do."
   "Then why do you stay here?"
   "I despise the Omicron Masters,"  he says with
heat in his voice.  "They murdered all my people --
my mother, my father, my friends.  I am the last of
the true owners of this island."
