 Youth
development has always been included as one of the many major concerns of
our country. Our nation considers the Filipino Youth as a major force for
change. They are the must dynamic agents in the society, and they have
constantly played a key role in the tide of events which have shaped our
nation’s history.
Cognizant of the indispensable role of the youth, Philippine government has already opened the doors to the youth’s participation in political affairs and community development through the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK). SK hopes to train and create a new, idealistic, and progressive generation of leaders. SK as the most organized and pervasive youth organization nationwide has already become a very potent vehicle to actualize youth empowerment in the community. Since its creation in 1992, it consistently led the youth to actively participate in various community projects and programs. These are Sports Development and Promotion, Pollution and Environmental Protection, Ecology Education, Educational Development and the most notable one is the anti-drug abuse campaign. |
