life is complicated.

maybe cos i'm a girl. somehow girls tend to read more into stuff. guys have a more straightforward view of life i guess? whereas we see more hidden meanings, get more subtle hints, and sense more underlying motives. we read more between the lines. sometimes even when there's nothing to read, just alot of blank space. but hey, it's a talent.

do note however that the above paragraph is, in defiance of my poor gp tutors' efforts, a broad generalisation, a sweeping statement, based purely on my own observations of human psychology, and should thus be taken with a pinch of salt.

[cue everyone to turn around and pinch salt, now X)]

anyway. my main point in typing this at the unearthly hour of 4+ in the morning is to share my latest discovery, lonelygirl15.

the significance of which is very not-coincidentally related to the title of this entry. lonelygirl15 is a lit student's dream, and one of the single most amazing shows i've ever found on youtube. it started off masquerading as the vlog of a 16-yr old girl, then was later exposed as a scripted production. i started off thinking it was perfectly innocent, mildly entertaining teen fluff for people with nothing better to do [like yours truly. well actually i do have something better to do, like study for exams. but ANYWAYS].

but the truth is, lonelygirl15 is a work of pure genius. cos every scene is loaded with hidden symbolism pertaining to psychology and religion and all kinds of other deep stuff. very i'm the king of the castle, for those who studied that book in sec school, and absolutely fascinating. the storyline develops as a response to fans' comments. interactive entertainment indeed. it's an ongoing production so i can't wait to see what the next plot twist will be =)

you gotta read between the lines.

anyway. something somewhat amusing to share. sort of related to my entry as well. in the sense that you can derive different interpretations from the same words, you just need to read between the lines. especially when it comes to using sarcasm.

i heckled someone via sms today. this girl i don't know smsed me by mistake.

her: darling where r u? u say want to top up my phone pls now u top up
[er. who's this. why must he/she rely on aforenamed 'darling' to pay for his or her phone?? quite sad right.]
me: sorry, i'm not ur darling. pls top up ur own phone, thanks.
[okay i know i didn't have to respond to a wrong number sms. but XD]
her: sorry wrong number. i took my boyfriend.
[you took your boyfriend?! how do you 'take' your boyfriend? maybe you scoop him up off the table and sneak him into your pocket when no one's looking? or maybe he has a handle which you can grab and take him with you? like a bag? and 'take' him to where?]
me: lol no prob. take ur boyfriend wherever u want =)

yah i'm very mean. but i simply couldn't resist. so live with it. HEH
