From this point on, thankfully, more is known about the McKinleyville Opens. This is because young Micah Van Der Kamp decided to follow in the VDK footsteps and pick up the game of golf. The Open would never be the same. Micah didn't make his impact right away, but how could you expect him to? When it was time for the 1996 McKinleyville Open, he had only been playing golf for a month, so it was really no surprise when he shot a 120+. Sure, things started out tuff for him, but he would soon make his mark on the Open. The real battle was of course between the other three contestants. Josh triumphed this year by shooting a 105 with Greg close behind and Carl just a few strokes off. |
