1968 Camaro Build
This car will be transformed into a Trans Am Racing Series Race Replica. These cars were widely raced back in the 60's & 70's. This is a perfect fit for a new type of build for SJR Racing. At first the thought was to make the car as close to Race Replica as possible, although that only lasted so long. With prices of certain high dollar "Authentic" parts, it was decided to go for the look and keep the project fun and light hearted and throw our own customizations at it.
With that decision made, the gears have been turning on what we would like to see with this build. The decision has been made for the power plant to be a torque twisting heart pounding Big Block under the hood. To accompany the power plant is the transmission dilema. At first it was a no brainer to make use of a manual transmission, but since we are straying from authenticity, there have been some discussion of going back to an automatictransmission. This would allow for ease of drivability along with my wife (if she's brave enough) to take it out some of her own fun!
The car is due back any time with the cage installed, and then the real work is about to begin. Stop back soon to see the progress. |
