Padul-ong Festival

The Padul-ong Festival is celebrated every September 7, the eve of the Borongan Town Fiesta. The festivities start at Brgy. Punta Maria by dawn with a sea procession of the image of the Nativity of Our Lady, Borongan's patron saint. Upon arrival of the image at the Rawis seaport, a parade follows with participants displaying elaborate costumes and interpreting through streetdancing the story of the miraculous image.

The Padul-ong Festival is the biggest religious and civic celebration in the whole province of Eastern Samar and one of the most anticipated festivals in the region.
