STARS Helicopter parked on Yarmouth Waterfront
Some of our members had undergone training with the STARS helicopter, which is the Air Ambulance which used to serve Nova Scotia. STARS stands for the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society.
Some of our members had taken a Ground Crew Safety & Scene Management course which covered safety around the helicopter, where not to stand, how to help them land (signals to give them, possible hazards), radio protocal and a few other things. It was an interesting course.
The Air Amulance Service in Nova Scotia is now provided by Nova Scotia's Air Medical Transport Program. Some of our members had taken the training through these people as well.
