Wednesday

                                Ferry Times to Caretaker

Call Camp Olave Caretaker –  with Group Name, Site Booked and Ferry Time for arrival

Thursday

                                Leader Car(s)

With all shopping completed and food prepared, Leaders cars are loaded up with supplies, crafts  and food.

Friday

8:30 am            Kiss and Ride

All Sparks, Parents and Leaders arrive and find seating on previously assigned car/van pools at designated spot.  Camp gear for each person is placed in the car/van they are travelling in.   Ferry passes for all passengers are handed out with directions to camp.  Directions should state exactly where we are going down to the site we are staying at.

   ASK ALL TO MEET AT THE FRONT OF THE FERRY ONCE ON BOARD.

 

9:00 am            Car Pool Departure

Cars/Vans departs for ferry.

 

11:00 am            Ferry Ride

Ferry leaves @ 11:20 am

All to meet at front of ferry

Name tags for all Mom’s

Bring bag lunch to eat on Ferry

                                   

12:00                Drive to Camp Olave

All Sparks, Parents and Leaders drive in same vehicles to Camp Olave.

                       

12:30 pm             Arrive at Camp

                        Ensure gate is closed after driving past it

Give Caretaker –  a list of participants, home phone numbers and emergency numbers as well as the group name and site reserved and dates

Unpack luggage from vehicles to central area-only one car unloads at a time (others wait in parking lot)

Parking – park cars like a train in parking lot with identification paper on first car

Only one car can park by lodging

At least one leader arrives early to make required bookings for activities

Identify pre-assigned bunkmates (3 girl/3 parents per cabin)

Parent and child unpack belonging and set up bedding – advise to keep sleeping bags rolled  till bedtime

All medication is given to Sparkle/Our First Aider on site and is secured in area where parent can access when required

 

1:00 pm            Circle Time / Introductions

Introductions through telephone song

Sing Songs, have fun and get to know each other

Buddy up and number count

 

1:30 pm            Orientation                 

Leaders go over ground rules (posted)

Address any questions

Do leafy tag craft

Camp orientation/guided tour

Go to beach last and select rock for sleeping bag toe warmer

 

Change for Swimming

 

2:30 pm            Beach Booked for Swimming / Beach Fun

                       

3:00                  Snack

 

3:15 pm            Paint/Colour Rocks

                        Paint/colour rocks for sleeping bag toe warmer

 

Cabin Posters

With your group identify your Nature Cabin Identity through the creation of a cabin poster

 

                        Fire Drill     

                        Must have fire drill for all participants within first 24 hours of arrival

 

5:00 pm            Prepare for Dinner

                        Clean up, change and get ready for dinner

 

5:30 pm            Dinner

                        Spaghetti, salad, garlic bread

 

6:00 pm            Clean Up

 

6:30 pm            Craft Hall Activities

                        Make magic rainbow catchers for good dreams

                       

7:30 pm            Mug Up

                        Warm drinks

Songs and games

                        Bed favors (Fairy Cream) are secretly placed in each bunk

 

9:00 pm            Bedtime

                        Back to cabins, clean up and lights out     (HAHAHAHAHAHA)

           

Saturday

 

8:00 am            Breakfast

                        French toast, sausages, orange juice and milk and lots of coffee

                       

9:00 am            Clean Up

 

9:30 am            Crafts

                        Create hat pins – Sleeping Spark, Caterpillar Pin

                        T-shirt painting for those who would like to participate

                                               

                             


10:30am            Fun and Games

                        Cooperative Skis

                        Sack Races

                        Captains coming and other group games

 

11:30 am            Lunch (Campfire on Beach– Tide is low)

                        Hot Dogs, Corn Chips and Veggies and Smores

 

1:00 pm            Clean Up

                        Sweep cabins and take an afternoon cat nap

 

1:30 pm            Free Time

                        Visit the Trading Post (check times may vary 2:30 – 4:00 pm)

                        Explore the Camp

                        Play Frisbee, Cards, Ropes, Games

                        Decorate frames with shells

                        Hat Pins – Cups in Oven, Peanut Camper

                        Get to know new friends....Whatever feel good at the time....

 

1:30 – 2:00            Beach Booked for Swimming

                        Optional as it’s free time with Mom

                                   

2:15 pm            Snack On the Beach or Grab it at the Shelter

 

                      

 

3:30 pm            Back to Nature Adventures

                        Divide group into two for following activities:

1.       Blind mans trail and the Enchanted Forest

Thicket game

                        2.  Lost in the Woods Program at the Nature House

 

5:30 pm            Prepare for Dinner

                        Clean up,  and get ready for dinner

 

6:00 pm            Dinner

                        Macaroni and Cheese, Chicken Fingers, and Veggies and Caesar Salad

 

7:00 pm            Clean Up

 

7:30 pm            Friendship Fire & Mug Up

                        Songs & Games

                        Warm drinks

 

9:00 pm            Bedtime (HAHAHAHHAHA)

Back to cabins, clean up and lights out       

Sunday

 

8:30 am            Breakfast

                        Pancakes and Bacon

Lunch is prepared at the same time as breakfast and is bagged and put in a box for later

                       

9:00                  Clean Up

 

9:30 am            Pack Up

                        Pack up belongings and clean up cabins

                        Bring luggage out to central spot

                       

10:00                Farewell Walk

                        Bring toe warmer rocks back to the beach

                        Last walk through the Enchanted Forest

                       

11:00                Chapel

                        Visit Chapel and sing “On My Honor”

                        Favorite thing about camp

 

11:30                Lunch

Bag lunch handed out to all

 

12:00                Closing Ceremony

                        Hand Out Badges

                        Sing Closing Song

                        Say Good-byes

 

12:30                Pack up Cars

                        All belongings are packed in respective vehicles

                       

                        Final Inspection of Facilities

                        Leaders and Camp Caretaker ensure facilities are clean

 

1:00                  Cars Leave Camp Olave

                        All girls, Moms, and Leaders leave camp Olave in vehicles previously assigned

                        ASK ALL TO MEET AT FRONT OF THE FERRY ONCE ON BOARD

                       

2:30                  Ferry Leaves 45 minute ride

                       

 

Vehicle Loading at Horseshoe Bay

All girls, Moms, and Leaders leave ferry in designated vehicles

 

Arrive Back in Richmond
