Paleontologist Ross and brother of Monica (Courteney Cox), has a hard time dealing with life since his wife Carol left him and announced that she is a lesbian. His life is further complicated by the fact that he is co-parenting his son with his ex-wife and her lover, Susan. Intelligent, highly emotional and romantic, Ross has been unlucky in love - except for those times he has been dating with Rachel and the one time he married her. A third-time divorcee, Ross is still teaching at a unversity. Now he is the father of his second child, a daughter, of whom he had with Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) after a one night fling.
