If there is anything that occupies me after my job it is computers. I consider it the single most important invention that science has gifted the mankind. I never get over my amazement for what these machines are capable of and the way the software industry has proliferated worldwide. Had I not been in the field of advertising I would have definitely been in the field of computers especially the software development.

I like working with computers. Whenever a new software or operating system is released I like to try it. I generally like to see their stability, bugs, user-friendliness etc. I even find system administration to be quite interesting. I generally like to take care of the computers in my office. The general maintenance, software and hardware installations, networking, troubleshooting, anti-virus, virus definition updates, software updates, operating system upgrades and so on are the activities I routinely engage in for this.

Software

I think it is no big deal getting to know how to use a software. Almost anyone can do that with little practice. Of course mastering them to a level takes some effort and a lot of practice. I can use the following major softwares with ease, though I can not claim to be a master at them.

  1. Coreldraw v10
  2. Adobe Photoshop v6
  3. Adobe Acrobat v5
  4. Microsoft Office XP
  5. Macromedia Dreamweaver v.4
  6. Macromedia Fireworks
  7. Macromedia Flash v.5
Programming
I am interested in programming but I could never devote enough time to learn the development languages. I learnt C++ for a while and I bought many books on Java, Visual Basic, Visual C++ but could not make it. Anyway, these days all this is more of a hobby than anything else. As I was talking on the Games page, the development of games fascinates me quite a bit. I would surely try my hand in that in future. It would really be fun to create 3D environments, entities, situations puzzles and so on. I would sure love to interact with the developers through out the world on the Internet.
