It did not take Crystal two days to reach her destination.
As the sun moved towards the west, and as Crystal came
closer, she became more and more aware of how clearly
she could read the thoughts of the two companions. This
made locating the exact spot of the garden quite easy.
Still a few miles away, Crystal scanned the area. The
man was bathing in a nearby pond and the woman was
alone in a bed of flowers. Crystal could not feel the
presence of the Supreme Being for he was no where
near the garden.
"Hmmm, these human's minds are so simple. It doesn't
take much for me to read their thoughts, " Crystal said to
herself as she came just less than a 100 feet above
Adam's head. "They're not even aware that I'm so near
watching them."
Then, Crystal had her idea.
Before she landed in a smal group of trees behind the
women, Crystal quietly transformed. In an instant, her
beautiful creamy complexion was covered with a green
and slimy skin, her golden silky hair was replaced with
shimmering thick scales, her wings with a long and thick
tail that swished heavily behind her. Even her eyes were
now dark green and lidless, the scales reflecting all the
colors of the garden; her tongue had a forked tip and
she lisped when she spoke.
Crystal knew that Man had never seen a Fae before, but
she did not want to be easily identified in case her little
visit was later revealed.
She walked out of the trees, approaching the woman
from behind as she sat amongst the daffodils.
"Sssso, thisss issss your home, the garden. It'ssss very
pretty, " said the green and scaly Crystal.
"Oh, you startled me! I thought I was alone!" The woman
turned to find a creature standing behind her. She
was slightly repulsed, but she figured this was another of
the Supreme Being's creations, therefore, she was not to
judge.
"Sssso ssssorry. I didn't mean to sssstartle ssssuch a pretty
persssson in ssssuch a pretty plassss. I'm sssso in awe
of your pretty home."
"Don't you also live here, in the garden?" The women
asked.
"Oh, no. My home issssn't as beautiful. Will you pleasssse
ssshow me around? I would love to sssseee
everything that isssss here."
The woman was happy to oblidge.
"Of course! Follow me. There's so much to see!"
After a while, the woman lead the creature to the center
of the garden.
"Issss it not true that you can eat of every plant and tree
in the garden?" The creatured asked the woman.
"Yes, that is, except for these two. We were commanded
not to eat of fruits of these trees or we will die."
"Ha! Issss that what he told you?" The creatured
continued to laugh. "You are ssssso naive! You will not
die! He knowsssss that you will be like him ifff you eat
of the fruit. He wantssss you to be in the dark, can't you
sssssee that?"
The women did not know what to think, but she
continued to listen to creature.
"Eat the fruit, ssssilly woman, and know all! Eat, and your
eyes will be open!"
"Well," the woman looked at the golden fruit with the
soft green undercolor, "it does LOOK very pleasing, and
I've been curious...."
The woman plucked a fruit from the lowest branch, and
looking to the creature for encouragement, she bit into it,
chewed and swallowed.
Then she closed her eyes and waited, as if she
expected something to happen.
"Ssssseee, woman, wasn't it deliciousssss!" The creature
was excited, her tail wagging swiftly from side to side.
" And are you dead? Are you even the ssssslightessst ill?"
No, she was not ill, and the fruit was extraordinarily
delicious!
Suddenly, Adam was there; and as he approached the
woman, she excitedly exclaimed, "Look! I've eaten from
this tree, the very tree that we were told not to eat or else
we would die, and I'M NOT DEAD!"
"What? This is impossible! What have you done
woman?" Adam demanded!
"See for yourself, husband! Eat! It is the most wonderful
tasting fruit in the entire garden!"
And, Adam did eat of the fruit. And as Crystal watched,
their eyes were open and the man and woman knew that
they were naked.
A slow smile of satisfaction crept across her scaly face
right before the creatured suddenly disappeared.
