Chapter Seven The First Fae Child continues... (part 2)
But, Dex had set his heart on Marigold, and would only follow her. He paid no attention to the antics of the other females, instead asking Marigold to join him on little walks where they could be alone. Marigold would always blush, but nicely decline. "Isn't it a beautiful morning, fair one. Wouldn't it be nice to walk barefooted in the tall grass to feel the morning dew on our toes?" Dex would ask. "I' m afraid that I must decline. Crystal wants me to help bring fresh water up from the stream," Marigold would answer. "Ah, the apple trees are in bloom right now, and they are so beautiful. Let's take a stroll and enjoy their sweet scent, although their scent do not compare to you." "No can do. It's almost time for the late meal and I must help the gatherers prepare." "Oh, lovely Marigold, let's wander up the hill to enjoy the magnificent sunset this evening." "Will you leave me alone!"

Dex didn't give up. However, for several more days, sweet Marigold would continue to insist that she could not desert her duties, always coming up with an excuse not to accompany Dex. One evening, after the remnants of the late meal had been cleared away, and Crystal was not around, the Fae sat together enjoying the stories that each male had to tell. Of course, these were all made up stories full of dragons and unicorns, creatures that didn't even exist. Yet, the women delighted in each tall Tale. And Dex's never ending persistence and patience paid off when Marigold agreed to take a short walk with him into the forest. Dex was so overjoyed that Marigold FINALLY accepted his invitation, that he had forgotten himself and, quite suddenly, he passionately took Marigold into his arms. As she struggled to set herself free, he bent her low, her legs quickly off the ground and kicking in the air, and Dex pressed his lips on to hers. He couldn't resist himself! Marigold has such KISSABLE lips!
Dex learned the hard way that the way to a Fae's heart was NOT by forcing yourself on her. So, instead, he chose the subtle approach. He knew it would take even longer now for Marigold to ever thrust him enough to be alone with him again. He also knew that he just had to squelch his desires until that time came. Instead, he always, nicely, complimented her on her beauty or thanked her for any little thing she did for him. He began to bring her tokens of flowers and gemstones, or offered to help her with her chore. Little by little, Marigold started to accept his gifts and his help. Soon, the blush returned to Marigold's cheeks every time Dex looked in her direction. Then, she agreed to a short stroll, and this time, Dex kept his hands and lips to themselves!
Dex sensed that Marigold was beginning to return the feelings that he had for her, and decided to take their relationship further. He set up a special place where he and Marigold could take their meals in private away from the other Fae. And when Marigold agreed, Dex was very pleased.
On Marigold's part, she became so infatuated with Dex and the way he made her feel special, that she soon found she wanted to spend every moment of the day with him. Of course, this was impossible, but Marigold was insistent on making it so. She made their special area comfortable by bringing furniture that had been created by Blue Fae magic. She made it personal by planting daffodils, Dex's favorite flower, on the out skirts to surround them. She grew large white daisies, her favorite, in to the grass to make it softer and sweeter. She commanded the birds to sing in the trees that grew to entertain them, even at nightfall

Marigold would meet Dex by the edge of the lake to go for a swim in the middle of the day, instead of tending to her chores, hiding amongst the reeds so that they would not be noticed as easily. During meals, she began to speak to Dex freely about her thoughts and dreams. Sometimes she and Dex would sit quietly together listening to the natural noises of Gaia, content to hold hands. Every evening, they would take long walks together, often having what ever they found growing for their late meals. |

As the weeks past, Marigold and Dex felt more and more comfortable with one another, holding each other close while they swayed back and forth to the beautiful music that the birds created only for them. Sharing only with one another each secrets and desires. The two were in love.

Well, Marigold would have nothing of it! She resisted his advances, struggling with Dex until she was able to get her balance, then she heavily pushed him away. "What do you think you're doing!" she shouted at him, her eyes wide as she roughly pulled her dress down and smooth out her tousled hair. "I'm sorry!" Dex stood staring at her, just as shocked at his behavior as Marigold. "I didn't mean to....well...I just like you so much" "That you thought you could violate me!" "No, no, that isn't what I meant at all. Marigold, you must believe me." But, he was talking to the air because Marigold had already returned to the safety and privacy of her nest.
