| It is safe to say that few have ever seen a jackboot up close on a thug's foot. few question the existence of said boots. and if a certain person has never heard of jackboots, upon hearing a quick explanation of them, he or she would not doubt the very real possibility of these jackboots nattily snuggling the delicate foot of a thug. Consider: *shoes exist for the purpose of fitting the feet of people. *the twentieth century american thug, which is a particular type of person, exists. would it not make sense for the two elements to go hand in hand, or foot in shoe? thugs need appropriate footwear. i would surmise that jackboots are perfect for the job. but let's think about this...the job of a thug - well that's obvious. but the design of the boot is not so apparent. i, for one, have never seen jackboots on sale at macy's. by analyzing the activities of the twentieth century american thug, one can draw a picture on a mental doodle pad (if you will) of what a jackboot looks like. now...if we all could think for a moment (whomever might be encompassed under the umbrella of "we all," which could be comprised of several people or just two)...what does a twentieth century american thug do? well, there are basically two types of thugs: *blue collar thugs (and) *white collar thugs both types, in essence, participate in identical activities, but for different reasons.(1) thugs are into doing violent deeds for money and revenge, usually for some other larger proprietor, i.e., a drug runner, mafia boss, or government official. The only difference between the two is in appearance and their stations in society. Blue collar thugs are coarse in their dress and demeanor. White collar thugs are equally violent in their manner of beatings and killings, but they look much more genteel; more glamorous, or in some cases, more corporate and business like.(2) what do thugs do with their feet that would require special footwear which also involves violence? perhaps stomping on fingers and crushing bones, kicking in doors and skulls?that sort of thing. i can imagine that the footwear of thugs needs to made of durable material...considering the blood, brain particles, and vomit that may result from a thorough drubbing via. jackboot. i propose that a jackboot is black, made of a leather upper sheathed in teflon, with a tough rubber sole. i think that it has a reinforced steel toe, perhaps laquered in black. there is no shoelace in a jackboot; it would only get in the way. this boot slides on quickly and has one buckle at the top. some jackboots might have special hideaway pockets in them, for concealing fun little gizmos of torture and various weapons intended to inflict bodily harm.. so yes, this is the jackboot. simple, yet stylish. fit for the foot of any thug ready to do some violence. real horrorshow? (1) the thug and narrator of a clockwork orange by anthony burgess wore - you guessed it...jackboots. he referred to them (as did his colleagues) as "horrorshow kickboots." this was a thug who was into violence for recreation - unlike the thugs i have described. but then again, "little alex" of clockwork was not a twentieth century thug. (2) because appearances are so deceptive, the white collar thug is more dangerous than the blue collar thug, in my opinion. the white collar thug does not fit the profile; therefore he will commit more crime successfully while eluding authorities frequently. in some cases, thugs masquerade as authority officials, i.e. police officers and political leaders. |
