Welcome friends to my website.

I would like to introduce myself for those just getting to know me.  My name is Melissa Newallis.  I received the nickname Sissa in my late teens and early 20's when I worked as a nanny and taught preschool through church.  Children under the age of 3 find it hard to say "Melissa" so it ends up coming out "Sissa".  The children's mothers find it endearing and started to call me Sissa also.  Growing up until the age of 18 I was always called Missy.  It's not a name I like to go by.  I prefer Melissa or Sissa.

Little bits of information about me.  I am updating my profile in June 2007.  I am a widow.  My husband Peter Edward Newallis Jr passed away October 23rd 3005 of a mis-diagnosed Pulmonary Embolism.  I was with him holding his hand and wiping his brow at the moment he took his last breath.  The evening before, while he was recovering from unnecessary heart surgery, we were sitting in his hospital room with lots of friends and family.  One moment he was fine and then he was sad and crying saying he didn't want me to be alone.  At the time, I thought he didn't want me to go home along or be at our home by myself.  Later if was explained to me that he probably felt there was something really wrong.  He was trying to tell me he didn't want me to be along if he didn't make it.  He was a warm, beautiful and loving man.  I will love him always.

SISSA'S AVIARY NURSERY
I still run Sissa's aviary Nursery from my new home in Olathe.  It's just a hobby that turned into a service and a joy.  Raising baby birds for myself or others gives me a way to fill my maternal nature and watch young hatchlings grow up and finds homes of their own.  I enjoy my pets but I'm no longer a breeder myself.  I do however appreciate and respect the local bird club Beak N Wings.  I have been able to travel, attend events, and show off my feathered children.
