Once you become certified, the registered Technologist, credential is maintained and RTT must agree to comply with SIRTT Standards of ETHIS.
While performing professional activities RTT shall uphold the vision of SIRTT ethic:
The person should be of good moral character.
Patient respect and dignity:
Treat each patient and its family with respect and dignity.
Assist patient and families regarding all the procedure the patient has to undergo.
Answer all patients and its family question fully with honesty within the limit of their knowledge and authority/responsibility.
Take steps to ensure the physical privacy of the patient.
Respect and maintain confidentiality of each patient, except sharing with the concerned healthcare team or where required by the law.
Patient centered care and safety:
Practice only that procedure for which the member is qualified or where the member has knowledge, skill, and judgment to ensure competence.
Incorporate risk management principal into routine practice in order to minimize risk.
Conduct all procedure and examination keeping in touch with standard safety procedure.
Professional behavior and integrity:
Provide care to all irrespective of its race, nation or ethnic origin, colour, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, type of illness, mental or physical ability.
Prioritize the use of resources according to need.
Utilize and distribute resources over which they have control in a fair and responsible manner.
Avoid any activity that creates a conflict or violates any local, provincial law.
Avoid exploiting the vulnerability of patient by entering into dual or non therapeutic relationship.
Strive to a role model for other members of the health care team by demonstrating responsibility, cooperation, accountability and competence in meeting the health care need in public.
Assume responsibility for error committed and take immediate action to prevent or minimize associated harm.
Participate in continuing professional development, research and utilization of best practice methods.
Should follow Radiation Safety Protection as per the Guideline of AERB.
Maintain and follow departmental standards and procedure regarding treatment delivery and patient care.
Maintain professional appearance at all the time.
Participate in the affair of the Association / society in responsible and professional way.
Educate patient, students, and professional colleagues about the practice and procedure of medical radiation technology.
