The Hike to Plateau Point
-The Grand Canyon
The first thing you get to do is walk through a tunnel carved in the rock. Here I am, standing in the tunnel. That's me right there.
The view from the bottom was encompassing and overwhelming, like surround sound for the eyes.
Plateau Point offers a grand view of the Colorado River.
These are two condors we saw while resting at the end of the trail. Notice the huge tags they carry. Very vogue. Thankfully they did not try to steal our lunch, though the crows did try. We fought them off valiantly.
Here is the deer that we saw standing by the trail. We tried to get it's attention to make it look at the camera for a picture, but to no avail. We trying screaming and yelling, throwing small pebbles, and then hurling boulders at it. Nothing. So this is all you get.
This is one of my favorite pictures. The rays of sunlight cascade into the Canyon, dazzling the green tree life that thrives on the tributaries that feed the Colorado River.
