Writing AIF

This is a guide for helping people who wish to write Adult Interactive Fiction, otherwise known as adult text adventures, or AIF. It talks about the nature of AIF, what makes AIF "good", and then give lots of useful advice for actually creating adult text adventures. Hopefully, this will be useful for newbies to the field, or even to oldies needing some new suggestions.

WAIF was written by Rap ([email protected]), with contributions from lots of folks on Usenet's AIF newsgroup alt.games.xtrek. The first draft of the guide was just a compendium of large and small selections from newsgroup posts, and you'll see that it still has that character.

Warning! This document discusses writing games of an adult nature. It may contain graphic descriptions of sex and other yucky things. Please do not read this if it's likely to upset you, your parents, or your government.

Still here? Well, then, on to the guide!
