SSEAYP International Philippines (SIP) headed by its President, Mr. Frankie Ong Bata, conducted a gift-giving Christmas outreach activity at the Cancer Institute of the Philippine General Hospital in Manila. The activity was one of the community activities that the organization conducts annually.

It has been a practice for the members of SIP to organize civic-oriented activities every December as a way of sharing their blessings for the year to the underprivileged and living out the true essence of Christmas.

Twenty former participating youths attended the program. Everyone brought along with them food (fruits, cookies, drinks), diapers, clothes, toys, hygiene products and the like which was distributed to the forty cancer ward patients and their relatives who were with them.

SIP was also able to get sponsorships from McDonald's and the National Youth Commission. The 2002 Christmas gift-giving activity was spearheaded by Banyuhay 2001, the Philippine delegation to the 28th Ship for South East Asian Youth Program.
