"Hi!" calls a cheerful feamale voice, much to your startlement. In here the scent of sulpher is much stronger, and the steam is so thick you can't really see anything but white mist a little below your throat. "Watch your step, kay? There a fissure in the floor over there...it's where all the steam's coming from." A girl with messy brown curls appears a short distance in front of you, apparently from no where until you relize she was probabley just low to the ground, under the cover of mist. She gestures to an area off to the side that seems to be the source of most of the reddish light in the room "This mountain's actually a dormant volcano, and we had a bit of a tremor awhile ago--opened up this here chasm. This WAS nothing but hotsprings--lovely for a bath, as long as you like 'em REALLY hot. But now some of the pools are flowing off into the chasm....and so, as you can see, we now have a steam bath." She smile a bit and emmits a low chuckle which you think is quite pleasent-sounding. "There's actually not very much loss--the pools that were that close to the underground lava-pool were FAR to hot for any of us soft-hided humans to bathe in. And most of the other dragons up here are snow-and-ice fans, who want nothing to do with wonderful warmth like this."She pauses a momment, and disappears mommentarily into the steam again before returning near your side. "Here," she says, handing you a towel and some rough soap. "Go ahead, you can still bathe, just stick to the pools on the very far side. Most of the inhabbitants here don't go for broiled humans." She grins at her rather morbid suggestion. You stand and gape at her. "What?" She asks innocently. "I'm not here to bathe." You tell her, the first words you've spoken so far. "I'm just a visitor--passing through, you know." The girl blushes noticabley, a difficult task with her dark skin and the poor lighting of the chamber. "Sorry." she says sheepishly, taking back the towls and soap. "I just assumed....I was terribly rude, wasn't I? Let's start again." She shifts the towels to her other arm. "My name's Adele." You reach over and shake her hand and make your introductions before she continues. "I must be the only one in the world who hasn't gotten to see a dragon of one kind or another up close. But I heard that
Spectral Rhea has a clutch of eggs that they're putting up for adoption. Steam Dragons--offspring of a fire and a water dragon. Strange pairing, no? Anyway, I intend to see if one of the hatchlings could come stay here-. I figure the molten rock in that fissure-" she breaks off at your startlement and grins at you "Not to worry, it's quite a ways down. We'd be well-roasted by now otherwise. Any way, the heat from that should please its fire half, and the hotsprings should make its watery nature quite content. At least, that what I'm hoping. I suppose I'll have to ask around before I know for sure."  She seems to become lost in her speculations, and you quietly leave the chamber with Adele barely noticing enough to wave a goodbye.
