A HANAGATA MITSURUGI SHRINE

Welcome to SINGULAR ROSE, a shrine to Saber Marionette's omake (extra), Hanagata Mitsurugi. Lately, I've noticed a disheartening lack of Saber Marionette pages in English, and an almost complete absence of Hanagata shrines. As Hanagata was the character responsible for my interest and current addiction to Saber Marionette, I decided the poor guy deserved at least one full site dedicated to him.

You may wonder why the site has the name it does. Like the rose he often carries, Hanagata is a rare creature -- strangely frail, beautiful, comic and filled with as many thorny contradictions as his image flower. He can be funny, charming, pathetic and -- in some cases, strangely touching and absurdly noble. He is truly singular -- in a class all by himself -- among characters in Japanese animation.

This site isn't meant to be a silly fan-girl shrine. I'm not going to ramble on and on about how I would love to get into Hanagata's tights or yell at anyone whose views of this character don't match mine. SINGULAR ROSE is simply a place for me to express my affinity for one of my favorite anime characters, and to allow others to do the same.
