given George Anthony editor of Liberation at the Sindhi Baloch Forum
on December 2nd 2001
This
is a war about the oil from the Caspian, the US estimating as much
as 270 billion barrels of it, and transporting it the quickest and
cheapest route through Afghanistan. The giant US oil company Unocal
has been looking at this since 1996.
Speech
by Rubina Shaikh, PhD., Vice Chairperson, World Sindhi Congress at
Seminar on "Positioning Pakistan in the 'War Against
Terrorism"
All forms of the terrorism should be met with appropriate
resistance. However, as an activist and advocate of peace, I believe
that we must analyze the historical contexts and policies that have
brought us to this war.
Speech
by Sardar Attaullah Mengal at Seminar on Positioning Pakistan in
“War Against Terrorism”
It is not enough to condemn the 11th September incident and mourn
the dead in Afghanistan. I think we owe more then that, to fellow
human beings. We must try to find the root cause of such mishaps and
try to undo them for future safety.
Speech
by Mr. Anwar MQM at Seminar on Positioning Pakistan in “War
Against Terrorism”
Before the tragic terrorists attacks on the Twin Towers in New York
and Washington on 11th. September 2001, the "Positioning"
of Pakistan was crystal clear. I am quoting two excerpts from the
statements of the President of Pakistan General Parvez Musharraf;
the first one was made on 5th. February 2000 that stated:
"Jihad is not terrorism, Mujahideen organizations are not
terrorist organizations. Jihad had been revived during Afghan war
and now it is Jihad in Kashmir. Muslims from different parts of the
world are coming together to support their oppressed brothers and
sisters".
Speech
by Balach Marri at Seminar on Positioning Pakistan in “War Against
Terrorism”
The war in Afghanistan has directly effected Balochistan and Sindh
in many ways and its effects are going to surface in years to come.
For last 52 years all the Nations in Pakistan “Terrorist State”
have been oppressed and deprived of their basic rights by one Nation
known as Punjab. Pakistan is a country, not a Nation and it should
not be treated as a Nation. It should be treated as a country of
many Nations and Nationalities, every Nation in Pakistan should have
equal rights and representation.
