What Ever Happened To Her?

"I don't know on the tickets they say." he pulled them out his pocket as he read aloud "New York Liberty vs. Orlando Miracle, well I am quite sure she doesn't play for New York."

"Wait this is a girls basketball game which means-"

"What?!"

"You just go in first and you'll find out." he finally got what he was saying as he pulled a hat out his pocket "This should at least get me to my seat, What are you gonna do?"

He walked on ahead laughing "You didn't bring me one."

"No"

Brian ran to caught up with him and finally as they were about to go in he pulled one out his pocket and tossed it to him. Nick was surprised when he saw a girl walk by with a jersey with Johnson on it and #32 but brushed it off everyone had shirts, hats, and other things which you could tell everyone was very excited about this game when Brian grabbed his arm "Let's go get something to eat, I hope your girl got us good seats."

Claudia was sitting at home in short black shorts and oversized Falcons jersey sitting on one side of the couch and AJ and Alex on the other side. They were all watching TV when he said "Could you go get her a bottle for me please I mean I would but we are so comfortable so could you please."

"Sure, why not." she rolled her eyes and got up disappearing out the room growing very jealous cause she felt he paid absolutely not attention to her anymore. She walked back into the room and handed it to him then sat back on the far side of the couch. When the baby fell asleep he went and put her in the playpen not to far away and covered her up and then came back and sat just realizing knowing how far she was away "Why are you all the way over there?"

"Maybe because this is where I have been all night, I'm surprised you noticed." she said her arms crossed looking at the TV screen.

"What do you mean by that?"

"Nothing"

She got up and grabbed the puppy and walked upstairs and he followed, she put a movie in and went back and sat her sat next to her but she stared straight ahead.

"You're jealous?"

"I don't know what you're talking about."

He turned her cheek so that she looked into his eyes and he asked again "Are you jealous?"

"You pay no attention to me anymore, it's all about Alex and your baby girl, Daddy's little girl, you know I love Alex with all my heart but I-I- miss you."

"You miss me" he said as he laughed a little.

"Yeah." she turned to completely face him "I know Alex is your baby and I'm glad you love your daughter and care about her but I thought I was your baby too."

He laughed and placed his arms around her "You are my baby, I didn't know I meant so much to you."

"Well you do, Love you."

"Ah baby, I love you too." He was about to kiss her when the baby started crying "I have to go check on her, it'll only be a second."

"But-" before she could protest he ran off, she threw herself against the couch pissed.

Nick and Brian were in their seats which were 5th row close to the floor "Well she did get us good seats" Brian said looking around at all the people.

"I want to see her, I wonder if she looks the same."

"You mean you wonder if she looks good."

"That doesn't matter, I just want to see her."

Finally the national anthem was done by some girl group and then the Announcer came on "Hello everybody." the stadium erupted in cheers "Today in Orlando, Florida..." he went on and on a long while saying that this year could be the year that Florida could take the championship from 3 time champions New York. They called the players out one by one first New York since they were the visiting time and then Florida then he heard "#32 the number one player in the WNBA as voted by you the fans Florida's own Lisa Johnson."

She ran out her hair was in a ponytail on the top of her head, she was in a baggy baby blue and white jogging suit and Nick just sat there shocked by all the screams and he looked over at Brian cheering also he asked over the crowd "What are you cheering for?"

"Are you crazy? that girl is the best player in the WNBA and she's only-"

"19 I know"

"How'd you know? You know about her?" he asked looking over at him.

He pointed towards the court as he said "Cause that's her, that's the Lisa I have been telling you about."

"What?!" he couldn't believe him as he excitedly explained "You were talking about her Lisa Johnson and you didn't tell me, Lisa Johnson is the chick you've been talking about. Did are do you know she graduated from high school when she was only 16 and her 2 years there she took both her teams to the championships, named one of the top 5 women college basketball players, in her senior year of college on her 19th birthday she got drafted to the Miracles and brought them here, I see why this game is such a big deal, see New York has won the championship 3 years in a row and now your girl Lisa may help us win it this year."

"How do you know all this?"

"ESPN come on, I can't believe you don't know this..that girl is huge."

"Me neither"

He flopped down in his seat disappointed in himself which made think when she had her first game in the middle school at the start of the year.

"Mom we have to hurry it starts soon" he told his mom as she tried to get the extra stuff out the car then she turned to him "Okay, get in the car let's go"

He climbed in the car very excited about getting to see her play. But she was in the school gym nervous out her mind as the game was about to start the coach talking to them and he yelled "Johnson, why do you keep looking back at the crowd?"

"Sorry coach."

"You ladies, you get out here and win okay, word of the day win and pass. Pass the ball to Johnson."

He talked to them a few minutes more before they went out on the court and she looked around and found her mother and Nick and his mother just walking in and she grew very relieved that he was there as she waved at him and he waved back. After the game, after they won since he didn't have any friends at school he waited outside on the front steps of the school for her, she came out her bag on her shoulders in a baggy jogging suit, she laughed and he got up and turned to her.

"What's funny?" he asked.

"Nothing, nothing, I'm glad you came." she said still laughing at him a little.

"Yeah, good game."

"Thanks, Can I ride home with you, my mom had to leave early and she told me to get a ride from you."

"Yeah, since you hate flowers so I got you your favorite candy M&M's in the yellow pack."

"I'll have to hide them from my mother but thanks." stuffing the candy in her bag.

"You're welcome" he said as she kissed him on the cheek, he couldn't help but smile a little as he walked her to his mother's car.

"Hey" Brian said bringing him back to the game "She filed out"

"What's so great about that?"

"Nothing, I was just telling you, you seemed to not be paying attention."

The game went on and her team was trailing by 11 points which only made her mad and made her play harder. In the 4th they started catching up. The classic game her dream the score was 98 to 97 and she watched her team mate with the ball and everyone else blocked including her and the clock on 3 so the girl just threw the ball and dropped to the floor in tears and New York knew they had won as the stadium got up and Lisa still was hoping it would go in like everyone else and when it did she jumped up and down and ran over to the girl and pointed out to her it when in. The stadium then went crazy, the court filled with reporters,fans,players,coach,family,etc.. She was in tears herself, he could feel her happiness as he watched her jump into the arms of her players, Nick got up and walked off and Brian shocked walked up and grabbed his arm.

"Where are you going?"

"Home"

"Why that's your girl? You're suppose to meet her tonight." he asked confused by his friend's actions.

"I just can't" he turned and walked off and now Brian wished he had come alone cause he sure wanted to meet her.
