"Steph...I mean Stephanie you're soaked come in."
She came inside and he helped her out of the wet clothes. She took a shower and she had on one of his shirts sitting up in his bed still thinking about her life when he brought her food over and she said "Thank you but I am not hungry."
He sat the plate on the night stand beside the bed "I'm so glad you decided to marry me."
"Me too cause you love me right, you really care about me."
"Yeah I'm very much on love with you and only you."
She didn't know what to tell him cause she knew she didn't love him as much as he loved her but she thought maybe she could learn to love him that much in return as she kissed him.
A few days after the night Steph had told him about her whole engagement to Tony and he let her just go without talking it over. He saw the necklace on the table he picked it up and just looked at it. He was suppose to take it back cause it was very expensive but he decided to keep it.
Stephanie from that day forward went into depression, it wasn't the first for her but she didn't like it. She knew who she loved but she felt she was ready to move on but every night she'd climb out of Tony's bed and walk around his place thinking about Kevin and drinking anything to get her mind off him and crying. One night he came out on the balcony and saw her crying he went and pulled her back inside as he said "Stop crying over him Stephanie, You're with me now, he's moving on, it's about time you did too."
"Yeah plus we're getting married"
"Yeah and I will make you happy, very happy and I promise to never hurt you or make you cry." She hugged him warmly knowing he was right.
Tony's mother planned the wedding. Tony's mother was so happy they were getting married, everyone was except Stephanie. All she could do was sit back and watch everything go by. She was heart broken and confused, she thought getting married would make her happy but it was the complete opposite.
She was in blue jeans shorts and white tank top shirt very depressed needing to get away from it all she found herself walking threw the woods on the oath that Kevin loved he always told her it reminded him of he and at the end was a breath taking very of the woods and below was a stream. They'd had so many good times here and she really wished he was there now.
"Shouldn't you be getting ready for a wedding?"
She turned quickly to the sound of Kevin's voice.
"Yeah if you say so."
She quickly sat back on the huge rock and he came and sat next to her both very quiet then he asked "What are you doing here?"
"I don't know, I drove just to get away and that's." She released a sigh "This is where I ended up, I'm just thinking about my life and how I let it get so screwed up, my life was not suppose to end up like this."
"Like what?"
"Like" she stood up "Like letting love crash into my life once again, getting in the way of everything I have planned and how my life is not suppose to be so screwed up."
"You amaze me Steph"
"How?"
"You want your life to be so perfect and routine that you forget what's important, you don't love Tony you never have and you never will and you will never be happy with him, you're just marrying him cause well........Well I don't know why you're marrying him. I hope not cause he says he loves you cause he doesn't love you as much as I do."
"But-"
"But that doesn't matter to you, you just want to get married cause you think it will make you happy."
She didn't want to hear his lecture as she said "Kevin please-"
"Actually loving someone or having someone love you doesn't matter to you, you don't think about others feelings, everyone is not like you ...we all don't bury our feelings inside, it took me 3 years to admit to myself that I love you cause I was scared that you wouldn't love me back.
"I do love you but you don't want what I want out of life right now, I am thinking about Tommy and me."
"You are thinking about yourself and what everyone else thinks, I would love to marry you but you didn't let our relationship get that far. Nine months Steph? You broke it off cause you were scared of loving me, now you are still lonely, still miserable and still scared, I told you when we first started dating, I am not your ex-boyfriend .
"We're too different, you're a big singer and I am just a lawyer with a kid"
"I love you and your son, I love you Steph and I probably always will..no matter what." he decided to leave it at that and he got up and left her there to think more.
