"You're gonna have too learn, cause no girlfriend of mine.." she turned to face him surprised by his words "I..it" he said very nervous.
"Go ahead, no girlfriend of your's"
"Can not know how to play basketball"
He called her over and she stood facing the basket. He stood directly behind her as he explained what to do smelling her hair which smelled of strawberries, he had his arms around her waist and she said "I can't do this."
"Yes you can" she released the ball and made the shot "See you made it Dana."
"Well I have a great teacher."
"Yes you do have a great teacher." he hugged her and her him as they talked when his cell phone rung and he grabbed it still holding on to her hand "Hello"
"Hey" he heard Nick's voice from the other end.
"Hey I haven't heard from you in a while."
"I know because I have a girlfriend now you know.....can't hang with you all the time now."
"Yeah..well what made you call me now." he asked Nick while laughing at Dana.
"Lisa got tickets to this basketball game um....Magic vs. Lakers want to go?"
"Yeah I want to go, How many tickets does she have cause I have a friend and I want to bring her along."
"You have a friend and it's a her" he asked surprised.
Brian laughed "Yeah can she come?"
"Yeah, we were going to find someone to fill the 4th seat anyway but..the game starts at 7:30 tonight don't be late, well meet you at the entrance okay."
"Yeah thank you."
He hung up and turned back to her as she said examining his hand "You bite your nails?"
"Sometimes when I am nervous or something. Would you like to go to a basketball game tonight."
"Yeah, I have nothing better to do."
He grabbed her hand as they walked back towards his car, the ball in her free arm as he said "I think you will really like this game."
"What makes you say that?"
"It's your team the LA Lakers vs. my team the Orlando Magic."
"Well this should be fun."
"Yes it should be" he said laughing.
"Len I met this guy and he is really, really, really nice and so much better than Justin."
"Oh really" her sister said happy for her little sister (by 2 minutes)
"Yeah, I am getting dressed now, we are going to a basketball game."
"What game?"
"Lakers vs. Magic"
Her sister shocked "Really, I have to tell Mike he is gonna die but I have to start dinner, cheer for our team okay.
"Yeah sure, I'll talk to you later, I love you and make sure you tell Emily the same."
"Yeah, yeah."
"Bye"
She hung up and finished getting dress. She really liked this guy. They had been going out only about 4 days and she already like him a lot. She didn't want to rush but she couldn't help herself, he made her feel so comfortable and so safe plus she refused to punish every guy she met for Justin's fault's.
Brian walked up to her door hoping she was ready cause they were running late. He knock at her door and she answered dressed in black jean shorts and a black sleeveless shirt with 'Princess' written across the bust in rhinestones, she had her hair hanging down.
"Let me get my bag." she said as she raced back inside.
Finally she came back and they left. She was a little nervous about meeting his friends. He told her everthing would be okay so she promised her self not to make it such big deal.
They all exchanged their hello's and their greetings as they went inside. They had pretty good seats they we not court size but they were close enough. Through the whole game she secretly cheered for her team just to bother him especially when her team was winning and when his was he would do the same to her.
"I have not had that much fun in ages" she said excitedly as he walked her to her door.
"I am glad you had fun."
"I did, you know I am sorry the Lakers won ...... maybe next time right." she said laughing and bouncing the basketball in which he had bought her at the game.
"Yeah maybe next time."
Eventually they reached her door and she turned to him "I had fun tonight ... I think I could learn to love the game."
"I hope you do"
"Will I see you tomorrow?"
"I will call you"
"That means no" she said laughing a little and hugging him and then she pulled away looking in his eyes as he said "I promise to call"
"Okay, so I will see you later"
"Yeah, Good night Dana"
She kissed his cheek "Goodnight Brian"
She then turned and unlocked her door and went inside waving to him one last time before closing the door.
