"Why are you in such a hurry to run and go take your clothes off for money?" he said sitting his ciger down in the ashtray next to him.
"Not today Dad I am really late I have to go."
"Now let me tell you something. This is the 3rd time this week you have brought her here and you run in here at 4:00 and 5:00 in the morning waking that poor child up from her sleep you-"
She rolled her eyes "Okay I am a bad mother, Is that what you want to here?"
"You sure as hell is not a good one, you can't even keep a man for longer than a week and look at you you look like a cheap slut, all that makeup on your face and look at what you have on."
"Are you done?"
"No, you need to spend time with your daughter, your mother spends more time with her than you do and that is going to stop, your mother is done raising her kids, you laid down and made that baby not her"
"Dad! Don't you think I know that. Thats why I go to school in the day and work all night to take care of her, I don't ask you for-"
"As a stripper Debra, taking your clothes off for smelly old drunk men"
She was hurt by him saying that, even though it wasn't the first time he'd said that she held back the tears as she chocked out "It's not hurting her or you so it's none of your business"
"And you are a good role model to her"
"Dad I am sorry I'm not perfect like Mom was about taking care of me but as long as I don't ask you for anything...step off it!!"
She stormed out the room a few tears falling down her cheeks, she didn't want her daughter to see she was crying so she tried to clean up her face the best way she could as she went up to her childhood bedroom in which her daughter was siting on the bed watching TV her daughter turned and ran into her arms and Debra picked her up.
"Why are you crying?" her daughter asked wiping her tears away she smiled a little.
"Mommy is okay, I have to go I just wanted to tell you that I love you"
"I love you too even though you cry you still look pretty"
"Not half as pretty as you"
She hugged her tightly she really did love her daughter with all her heart she didn't know what she would do without her and she put her back on her feet onto the floor.
"Mommy, When I wake up I will be home?"
"You sure will, now go watch cartoons okay"
She nodded her head okay and raced back across the room onto the bed and finished watching TV, Debra with her feelings very hurt turned and when down the stairs and out the front door, she climbed into her car and cried herself to work.
