"How was your date?"
He tossed his jacket in the corner and sat in a nearby chair "It wasn't really a date, we just hung out."
AJ looking threw the CD"s still asked "Did you get her number?"
"I gave her mines, if you must know."
"What did you guys do?"
"We went bowling and we went and got a small bite to eat and to the park and that's just about it."
AJ now interested came and sat closer and he asked "Kiss on the first date."
"You know I don't kiss and tell"
"So you didn't"
He laughed as his mother called them down for dinner as they walked out the door he replayed "We had a lot of fun"
And the AJ asked "You think you two will go out again."
He shrugged his shoulders as they all walked downstairs.
Debra was getting ready for work, fixing her hair and waiting for the babysitter to arrive she rushing to get dress cause she was already running late when her 2 year old daughter Nancy ran into the room and up onto the bed.
"Mommy, I drawed you a picture today."
"You did, come here and let me see."
Her daughter happily ran over and Debra picked her up sitting her in her lap watching her hold up the picture proudly. Now this was her life in her arms Nancy was the cutest little girl. She had big brown eyes and brown curly hair she looked nothing like her but more like her father except her skin tone she had her skin tone.
"This is me and this is you and this is our puppy"
"But we don't have a puppy sweet heart."
"That's what I want for my birthday."
"We'll see okay"
He daughter nodded 'okay' as she climbed out her mother's lap and ran out the room as the phone ringed and Debra released a sigh as she went and picked up the phone for the babysitter to tell her that she couldn't make it. She raced into her daughter room putting her shoes and jacket on she hated to take her daughter out in her pajamas but she had no choice as she dressed her Nancy a little confused asked "Where are we going mommy, to the park?"
"No baby, I have to work and Amy can't make it so you have to go to grandma's"
"Mommy" Debra looked in her eyes "You look really pretty when you get ready for work"
"Thank you honey, get yourself some toys and stuff and I'll be right back.
She went back into her bedroom and called her parents and they gave her a long speech before they finally agreed to keep her, after getting the 'okay' she went back into her daughter room and picked her up into her arms, grabbing her bag and keys and walked out the front door.
After dinner John, AJ and Howie were all sitting on the porch Howie was really in his own world thinking about Debra and semi-listening to John and AJ's conversation
"Where are you and your date going tonight John."
"Where ever she wants to go"
They high fived each other laughing and they noticed Howie was dazed and AJ asked "D, What's wrong?"
"Nothing just thinking"
"About Debra"
"Debra. We really had fun today."
AJ saw the car pull up and the two girls climbed out "John you have two dates?"
The two girls from the other night Terry and Tori walked up onto the porch and the guys stood up and Terry came over and hugged John
"So John are you ready?"
"Yeah"
Tori over excitedly "AJ are you?"
AJ was confused not knowing what was going on as Howie stood up trying to hide the smile across his face he put his arm around both Tori and AJ
"Oh yeah, AJ I forgot to tell you since me and Tori didn't hit it off that well I thought she would be perfect for you plus she is right around your age"
"Um, Um, I need to um get my bag from inside, I'll be right back"
He went inside a little surprised and Howie followed him inside holding in laughter "Hurry you have a date"
"I can't believe you of all people did that, if her date with you sucked, Why would I want to go out with her?
"It will be fun"
AJ not really mad grabbed his bag surprised that Howie of all people did this and he walked out the front door and Howie laughed one last time and went up to his room.
Debra was driving to her parents place her daughter in the seat beside her "Your grandparents are going to ask you a lot of questions about me just say "you don't know... okay"
"Okay"
"When you wake up you will be back home"
"I know, Is that magic Mommy?"
"Yeah it's our magic baby, if you want it to be"
Nancy laughed as Debra pulled into her parents driveway. She got out and went to the other side and got her daughter out and walked up to the door of the same house she grew up in and the door swung open and her mother stood there Debra kissed her daughter and told her goodbye as she ran inside she turned to leave
"Thats how greatful you are to us for keeping Nancy...Come here Debra" her mother said.
"Mom I am late"
"Your father wants to talk to you"
She released a sigh as she stormed inside knowing well pretty much preparing herself for her father to verbally tear her down into pieces.
