"Treehouse of Horror XI"
"Original Air Date: 11/01/00"
The first part of 2000's Treehouse of Horror is entitled, "G-G-Ghost D-D-Dad." In this episode, Homer's horoscope reads, "Today you will die." Homer doesn't take it seriously and just misses getting killed many times (a tree almost falls on him, a pick axe in his head, a snakebite, etc.) then at dinner, he chokes to death on a piece of broccoli. When he goes into limbo, St. Peter tells Homer that he can only get into heaven if he has committed at least one good deed. So, St. Peter tells Homer he has 24 hours to go back to Earth to do a good deed.
The second installment is entitled, "Scary Tales Can Come True." This parodies many children's tales. It starts off with Homer kicking Bart and Lisa out of their house (a giant pumpkin) and into the woods after loosing his job. Lisa's book of fairy tales guides them from dangers such as the three bears, a troll under a bridge, and then they captured by a witch that lives in a gingerbread house that wants to eat them. Homer eventually comes to the rescue.
The last installment of this episode is "Night of the Dolphin." In it, Lisa releases a dolphin named Snorky being held captive in a tank. Snorky was actually the leader of all dolphins and made a plan to overthrow the humans and bannish them to the sea.
This is Episode #249 in The Simpsons series. It is Episode #1 in Season 12.
