"A Tale of Two Springfields"

The phone company gives half of Springfield a new area code and the other half of Springfield got to keep the old one. Homer becomes outraged and demands that the town keeps the old area code. The phone company tells Homer at a town meeting that it's just much easier with the new area code. Homer starts a revolt and Springfield gets divided into two. There is Olde Springfield for the people with the new area code (the poor side of town), and the other side becomes New Springfield. Homer is elected Mayor of Olde Springfield and eventually, Olde Springfieldians are driven into New Springfield and the Simpson family is left by themselves in Olde Springfield. In the end, a Who concert brings the two Springfields back together. The Who guest stars as themselves.
