Sorry the updates are not coming everyday, I have been wanting to spend every moment talking with the people here. It is so sad that we only have six days left in Sakata. This weekend was fun, last night we had a big festival. The whole city congregates at teh church and there is a big meal and games and songs and lots of other things. It was a really fun night! Pajai, Naoto, Sotaro and I ended the night with a big water fight., It was really fun, it was the first time that I had been freezing cold in japan. The weather has been so nice lately, we like to just sit outside during the evenings. Well, usually we don't just sit there, we are usually doing fireworks in the evening.
Today was great! We had our second all day outing. We left at 9:30 and went strait to this really tight beach that is about 45 minutes away. IT is so beautiful, here are some pictures of it. Oh and this picture of a walll that says "Endress Love" . I had to take a picture of that because it if suposed to say "Endless Love" but japanese people can't tell the difference between 'L' and 'R' so it says Endress love. We all thought that it was pretty funny. So, we spent some time at the beach and at a wonderful lunch that Sotaros mom, Junko made for us. IT was great, the water was so nice, it reminded me of haaii. It was so beautiful too!" WE called it CHO KIRE, That means very very beautiful! We were all sad because I didn't charge my video camera, so we have no tape of the beautiful beach. WEll, after the beach, Sotaro and Andrew were dropped off at the airport to watch some planes while the rest of us went to the mall. Oh, we also had Mika (one of Pajai's students with us, and Mindy, a girl from arizona). We all went to the mall, but since we had just been there, I felt like doing something else, so I went back to the airport. IT was a mistake though, although I got to hang out with some tight guys, I got a farmers tan and watched the same plane for an hour. It was fun though! I don't regret it. Well, then we came back to the church and chilled for a few hours before we went for dinner at this ramen shop. IT is one of our students moms restauraunts. IT was so good, btu I can't eat too much ramen and they give you like a massive bowl, so I felt terrible. It was still really good. Well, I am going to go to bed, I am very tired. TOmorrow we have class, so please be praying for us! This week is going to be an emotional one, so please forgive me if I don't write. Hope all is well with all of you! Marti
