Exmouth / Port Hedland
Thur 06.09 - Chatted to Meg, Peter, Zoe and Kathy for an hour and then cuaght bus to Exmouth and booked in for one night at the Ningaloo Reef resort campsite.  Veggie Stirfry for dinner.  Yum Yum !!!

Fri 07.09 - Up at 8am.  We missed the bus to Turquoise Bay so we rented a car instead.  Dodgy, dodgy car.  It was a 1970's Holden Gemini.  (Thats a Vauxhall Chevette to me!).  We drove to Mangrove Bay and then to Yardie Creek.  Impressive.  We saw a Rock Wallaby.  Tiny little kangaroo type thing that lives on the rock face.  On the way back we had to stop as an Emu and 3 tiny chicks crossed the road.  Fantastic!

We hung about campsite until 10.55pm and then got bus.  Arrived at Girilia Turn off at 12.25am and had to wait there until 1.45am.  We were asleep 15 mins in to journey.

Sat 08.09 - Woke at 6.15am for breakfast stop in Karratha.  When we got back on bus most people, including Claire, went back to sleep.  But I couldn't.  Read my book until we arrived in Port Hedland at 11am.  Exmouth to Port Hedland is 784 kms.  Spoke to English Couple, Kyla and Kev from London.  Booked into Dingo's Oasis.  Nice Hostel with a view of the bay.

Port Hedland is a Iron Ore town.  The port is constantly shipping the stuff and the town is covered in the red dust.  We headed off to the shop and ended up having to walk 4kms to a shopping centre.  We were hungry and cranky.  Very nearly killed each other due to the heat!!  Eventually got back to hostel.  Had Spag Bol and relaxed for evening.

Sun 09.09 - Watched football roundup from previous week.  Jason McAteer - you beauty.  We can slag every Dutch person we meet, and the England - Germany result, a real shocker.  Bus was meant to leave at 11am  but didn't arrive until noon.  Sat in the baking midday sun waiting for it talking to Kyla and Kev.  Their friend appeared in Titanic the Movie.
