| Frazer Island & Noosa |
| Tues 11.12 - Arrived in Hervey Bay at 6.30am and had to wait for the Frazer Island tour to pick us up at 9am. Got ferry to Frazer Island. Its the largest sand island in the world and there are no roads there, just sand! The tour guide first took us to Central station (a logger station) and then for a walk ali\ong a creek. We went back to Resort for lunch In the afternoon we went to Lake Wabba for a swim. We had to walk across 1.8km of sand to get to it so the swim was very welcome.. Chatted to couple for Sevenoaks, England Jim and Maria. Hi to you. Drove home along the beach. It has a legal status as a highway and you must obey road rules. Strange. Back to resort. We were sharing a room with Kate and her 5 year old son, James. A big HELLO to you if youre reading this. Went to Karoke after dinner and surprisingly I didnt sing. Kate, Dmitri (A dutch fella) and I went down to beach and sat chatting until 2am. Wed 12.12 - Kate told me that after I left Dmitri and her on the beach a Dingo approached them. They can be vicious, but it didn't bother them. We started the day at the Maheno wreck. This was a luxury liner that got stuck in the sand in the 1930's and its been there since. We then went to Eli Creek. Its a crystal clear steam that you can swim down. I kept an eye on James, he as a bundle of energy. It took all my strength to keep up with him. We then had to catch a bus to Noosa. The driver bogged the bus on the beacha and we were stuck there for half an hour. Booked into a Backpackers. Maria and Jim there too. We went out for dinner. Thur 13.12 - We called Gabriella to see if we could visit her and Scott in Charleville. Shes going to be in Brisbane so we'll meet her but not Scott. Pity. We went to Hasting Street and shopped well window shopped. Noosa is a very expensove place and is fill of rich people ( and us two!!). We got our underwater camera photos developed. Some great snaps. I'll put them on the website soon. |
