Bunbury (Page 2)
Tue 03.07 - Went to the Cinema to see Moulin Rouge, with Claire and Vicky.  I found it surprising good.  Totally different than anything have seen.

We went to the Dicey Reillys for 1 drink.  Spoke to our first stereotypical Aussie.  And he wanted us to call him Chopper!!!  He was a big burly bloke with a massive goatee to match his belly.  I looked skinny beside him.  He talked absolute shite to us for about half an hour.
His friend came over to rescue us.  Although he was not as pissed as Chopper he was rightly on.  When he realised that I was from the North of Ireland he rang his wife and put me on the phone.  He was excited with the fact that his wifes parents were from Ballymena and that that was close to were I was from.  His wife was not as impressed!!  It was a short phone call.  Oh yes the fellas nickname was Bluey,  because he had ginger hair!!  Another little Aussie weirdness.

Thur 05.07 - Claires boss has organised us accommodation in the spare room of a fella that works in the labs at the hospital.  We went to look at it.  Gary, the fella that owns the house is friendly.  He has Fox TV, the Aussie equivalent of Sky, so I'm happy.  He also says there are Kangaroos about all the time.  The only one I have seen are dead!

Went back to Hostel.  Garth said to Claire that he take the key deposit off me for not washing my frying pan.  What a tosser!

Friday 06.07 - Sun 08.07
See Walpole,Pemberton, Canal Rocks and Margaret River

Mon 09.07 - Bought a mountain bike for getting about.  Bought helmet in Cash Converters.  The fella who served me was O'Donovan, Great grandfather from Ireland.  He asked did I know any O'Donovan's!!

On way back to  hostel I saw a fella with a Celtic jersey.  I asked him was he from Ireland.  He was he was from Kerry.  He was along with the Riverdance type show, Rhythm of the Dance.  We met them for a drink that night had a great chat.  Their names were Kenny and Eoin.  Eoin had went to college with Fintan Finn from Ballinasloe.  His sister was in Claires class at school.  A  guy from Magherafelt knew Darren Walls (from Claires class at college) and Sean Kelly (Magherafelf Sky Blues FC).

Claire phone Gary we move in Wednesday.  We'll be glad to be out of the hostel.

Tues 10.07 -  We were invited to Grahams house. Graham is the fella Vicky is staying with.  Claire's boss, Julie, was there.  The dinner was fantastic.  We had roast beef, Yorkshire Pudding, sweet potato, Pumpkin, peas and roast potatoes.  My mouths watering even typing it!  We haad dumpling for dessert.  The craic was good.

Wed 11.07 - Rang a florist in Dungiven to deliver flowers to Mum today from her birthday tomorrow.  Can't be delivered tomorrow because its a bank holiday at home.  Something to do with a battle in 1690 ????

Moved into Garys.  Sound fella and well travelled.  He has backpacked around Africa and South America.  He been robbed and caught malaria.  We are just amatuers compared to him.  We havent got robbed, just ripped off, and w'eve both had the runs, but that doesn't compare to Malaria.

Thurday 12.07 - Caught bus to town and collected my bike from Hostel and cycled back to Garys via the Ocean Drive.  Lovely beaches all the way out.  Met Claire outside hospital at 5pm and made dinner.  I'm the proper little house-husband!!

Gary has been teaching himself guitar for the last 6 months and played a few tunes.  We had a bit of a singalong.  Great fun!!

Fri 13.07 - Friday the 13th Spooky!!  Watched Entrapment.  Weird to see the Petonas Towers.  I had my first case of "I've been there".

Went to the golf course at dusk to see Kangaroos but didnt see any.  Gary had said there would be loads so he was a bit embarassed.  Watched "The Omen".  Wasn't as scary as it had been when I was 8.

Saturday 14.07 - Did our shopping and got Vicky to leave us out to Garys.  She said that the Derry couple she had met before were in Bunbury.  We went out to meet them.  Hes Diarmuid from Draperstown and shes Nuala from Bellaghy.  Small World strikes again.  He know Gregory Simpson, my cousin and she know Ciara Hurley, an old flame from Glenuillen Disco days!  They got married last December and are spending 18 travelling around the world for their honeymoon.  Claire and I are just doing it the other way round!!  Graham invited us round for genuine Cornish Pasties.  Lovely.  Hes originally from Cornwall, been here 20 odd years.  Drank wine, listened to Cd's and saw the Lions lose to the Aussies in the deciding test of the series.

Sun 15.07 - See
Busselton and Cape Naturaliste

Mon 16.07 - Watched Anna and the King.  Scenes filmed in the Grand Palace.  Second case of "I've been there"!!

Tues 17.07 - Posted Bali  postcards that I'd forgot to post in Bali! Went to see Shrek in the Cinema. Highly Recommended !!!
