How did Simply Coded begin?
"I had designed quite a few websites over the years when I finally decided to start my own company and bring my services to the general public. I kept hearing horror stories from people who had gotten their websites designed, and then years later wanted to change something and found all the coding and files to be a mess, with the webmaster nowhere to be found.
"What those types of webmasters don't realize is that creating a website is like having a child--you don't just leave it alone to wither and die on the great big internet. You have to take care of it, and love it, and continue to feed it with fresh information and clothe it in clean coding, and prevent psychological trauma by keeping your files well-organized.
"Websites soon take on their own lives...how many times have you heard the phrase "This website said..." or "I found this really cool website, it says...". You hardly ever hear "The creators of this website say..."

Why the title Simply Coded?
"I used to love sitting around for hours coding html. When anyone asked me what I was doing for so long, I would reply "simply coding." And when they asked what I did to my websites to get them to look that way, I replied with "I simply coded them."
"When I started up my own design company, I wanted a title that would reflect not only my design method, but also how I felt about coding. I liked keeping things simple, I decided, not flashy but still good-looking and fun--and thus Simply Coded was born."

Simply Coded still uses Notepad as its primary coding tool. It takes a bit more time to use than some other programs, but the end result is cleaner code -- making maintenance easier.
