Christine Stephen Daly was born in Melbourne, Australia, on the 5th December 1973. She is the second oldest of four girls born to Paul, an entrepreneur and Rhonda, a housewife. Her sisters are Louise, 2 years Christine's senior who is currently a teacher, Laura, who is 3 years younger and works in marketing, and Emily, 8 years younger, who is a "gorgeous model" and currently working between Australia and the UK, "I'm so proud of my little Em" gushes Christine. She is currently dating Simon Rydings, a marketing consultant who lives in London. She travels up from Bristol to London most weekends, or whenever she has time out of her busy filming schedule. Christine trained at NISA, Sydney and went onto to do a film- Love and Other Catastrophes, then she went onto do the TV series, Pacific Drive, playing Amber Kingsley for 2 years. Then she went on to do other films such as Me, Myself, I, Black Sun, A Change of Heart, So Long, Succour and many more we hope! Christine has also been in a number of stage productions in Australia, these are Sunshine Boys, Face to Face, Blinded by the Sun and Desire. Christine has worked on TV shows in Australia and in the UK, these include Something in the Air, Stingers, Farscape, Wildside, All Saints, Water Rats, Murder Call, Big Sky, Pacific Drive, Blue Heelers, The Genie From Down Under, Gates of Janus, Eastenders, and now Casualty. While training she had her tonsils taken out, due to having to spend time off with tonsillitis. Other than that Christine isn't really accident prone, though when she was nine she had appendicitis and developed peritonitis. Ouch! The stunning 5" 7' beauty started working on Casualty playing Lara Stone from series 16, episode 3 onwards. She was brought in in an episode called 'All's Fair'. From there, we saw her character develop and become increasingly more popular as the weeks went by. We saw her relationship with fellow doctor Patrick Spiller reach full height, though it was all brought to an end on 16th March 2001, when scriptwriters decided to kill Patrick off, leaving devastating consequences for Lara. In the two episodes around Patrick's death 'Past, Present, Future' and 'Memories' audiences were absolutely stunned at Christine's phenomenal acting skills. Since then Lara has been one of the Saturday night TV's main and most popular characters for three extremely successful series, unfortunately though she wont be renewing her contract to do anymore work on Casualty, she was one of 6 characters to announce their departures in early March. Working on Casualty has been a huge success for Christine; she's picked up a huge fanbase of 'Christine fans' not just 'Lara fans' and has been to a number of different places to film on location. One of these was a prison in Oxford where the TV series 'Bad Girls' is filmed, for 10 episodes Lara was in jail (an innocent person though) and finally she was let out when someone came forward to help her. This is what she said about filming there; "We shot the prison scenes at the old jail in Oxford used by Bad Girls. It is an amazing Victorian, gothic place with all these horrible little cells and it wasn't very pleasant filming in them." Another location Christine has filmed at is 'Wooky Hole', a set of caves in Somerset, where her and fellow co-stars, Simon MacCorkindale and Chris Colquhoun filmed 2 episodes. Christine's favourite foods are roast dinners, chocolate cake and ice cream. She began getting into cookery a few years ago "I began with things like spaghetti bolognese and risotto but now I'm getting more adventurous" laughs Christine. She listens to a wide variety of music, the CD currently playing in her car is 'Dead ringers', she mostly listens to 60's, 70's and 80's disco. We're not too sure about Christine's future, as she's currently filming her final scenes of Casualty, after that she'll be having a well-deserved break, and from then onwards; well no-one knows.
