Their relationship was far from perfect, far from unrealistic... Ok here goes.... one of the things a lot of people (that do) love about Lara and Patrick is the fact neither of them changed for the other one, they were still their stubborn, feisty, arrogant selves , they didn't feel the need to have to change around each other. If they disagreed with something the other one said then they'd argue their case through, they wouldn't be all 'Oh I love you so i'm going to agree with everything you say and be all stupid around you' they took it in their stride.

They had a prolonged passion that created a fantastic atmosphere which was not only fun and exciting to watch but if you look close enough you can see past the passion and see the love. Just because of this passion of this spark a lot of people tend to let it go over their heads and think of it more as a 'fling' but no way was it.

As for the propsal, the final proposal, those final moments they spent together, if anybody says that isn't love then you can sit down with one of the loyal Laraites and watch the last 14 mins of PPF and tell me WHY you don't think it is. He was giving up his career for Lara, come on, Patrick wouldn't do that, as for his pride, you think he'd rush into something if he knew it was all going to blowback in his face, you think he'd risk the one job he'd been working for his whole career, the one job that he wanted *SO* much for someone who he didn't love? Na!

I was watching some old s15 eps (do not eat me but I don't know names) and that old doctor said "Don't let Dr Spiller get in the way of Patrick" and that's exactly what he did. He knew there'd be other consoultancy posts but there would never be another Lara. The woman he did love.

As for her not loving him? HUH!?! I think thats one thing Hollyites can't disagree with us! We've seen the effect his death had on her and her relationships- hence the quote "I think of how I felt when I lost him, and it hurts, it hurts like I can't breathe" She hasn't been able to fall in love properly, two years on, she's only now in her first 'proper' relationship since he died!!

And she did save his life remember at the begining of 'Playing with fire' and she was wearing the fleece she wore when she saved him in that ep on thursday when she met me! Anyway, she left Craig just to be with him while he was in hospital she was at his bedside for god knows how long until he woke up. She loved him, he loved her, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, that's all that matters.
