Breen ships are generally of an organic nature. It is unknown how they are manufactured or grown. Since the Dominion War, military configurations have not been seen due to the dis-arming of the Breen civilisation. However it is strongly suspected that somewhere they have retained a small fleet.
The main advantages of these ships is the Energy Dampening weapons.
Once the allies managed to nuetralise this weapon they found the ships to be vunerable.
Frigates are known to be highly manouverable. Breen ships do not appear to have warp nacelles but have FTL capabilities.
Breen exist best on ice worlds. Thier normal environmental temperature is in the region of Minus 13 degrees centigrade to minus 50 degrees centigrade.
Out of their environmental suits they would die instantly in a normal human environment.
From this point of view they are very vunerable. However their body armor and environmental suits are of the highest specifications and can sustain heavy phaser fire.
It is thought that they would seek to occupy cold/Ice planets where their technology has advantages over federation standard. From a Cold/ice planet the Breen could set up an easily defended base.
The Breen live in a totally different environment to most humanoid races. Therefore Intelligence gathering is classed as difficult. The Breen are not known to be good informants and generally have nothing to do with humanoids beyond trade agreements.
However some information can be gleemed from these contacts as well as the use of long range probes that can be sent through the known holes in their security net.
SSFI have been monitoring the border for sometime. Commander Jack Geiger is the officer assigned to this sector.
Up until SD240211 the border was quiet and Breen activity was normal. However there is new disturbing evidence that the Breen either have re-armed, or are in the process of doing so.
SSFI regards the Breen as a potentially unstable element.
They are known to be a militaristic in nature and a determined race.
