When:December 2nd,2005
Where:Club Soda,montreal
Opening band:The Cains
Chances are you have never heard of the sleddogs, neither did I,prior to deciding to check out this band at montreal's Club Soda. The sleddogs are from Kelowna,British Columbia, and are a soft rock band, combining loud electric guitars with softer accoustic sounds, creating a nice blend. The sleddogs aren't very creative or unique, they remind me of a lot of other bands like Matt Mays and El Torpedo, the Trews and some songs even remind me of Bruce Springsteen. One of the biggest problems of the night was opener The Cains, they sounded almost exactly like the sleddogs, and at the end of the night it was hard for me to remember which band sang which song,I had several songs stuck in my head and couldn't remember which band performed it!!Another problem was lead singer Kenny Byrka was not very energetic,he was a lttle too laid back and mumbeled the song titles under his breath. But overrall, the concert wasn't so bad and I loved the blance of electric and accoustic.
The sleddogs' debut album is now in stores,it includes 10 songs plus 1 live bonus track.Their first video "Bye bye life" is now on rotation on Musimax and much more music
