| Chapter 11 ******* Oh my God she trailed off as the large wooden door finally swung open. Her large sapphire eyes managed to widen even further and her bottom jaw fell, leaving her looking incredibly amazed for the nth time that day. She stayed still, slender arms hanging limply at her sides, one would think she had died standing up, except for the fact that her now huge eyes were wandering frantically over her surroundings. She was trying to memorize everything before it all disappeared. Margot? JC asked softly. By this time, hed finally snapped out of his daze and was standing next to her, looking down at her face. The face that he still couldnt determine whether it was displaying shock, discomfort, or extreme pleasure. He was beginning to worry. Margot? he asked again, this time a bit louder. When she still didnt respond, JC twirled a lock of her chocolate brown hair around his index finger and tugged gently. Margots head wobbled a bit before slowing itself back to the rest position. He frowned slightly, but it quickly morphed into a twisted grin hen he took the shoulder length strands and ever so slightly tickled the inside of her ear with them. She immediately jumped back and glared at JC while holding her tingling ear with one hand and the house keys in the other. Chasez, didnt I tell you never to touch me again!? He feigned confusion. Nobut I do remember you specifically telling me where I should shove the keys once the door was opened. And my dear miss, I do believe that you are holding my enema. Margots face scrunched up in distaste and she gladly hand over the keys. JC smiled a thank you and was to make another smart comment until he saw her eyes become distant yet frantic as she scoped her surroundings once again. He waited for her to say something but when she didnt, he opened his mouth to speak. Are- are you sure this is where were going to stay? Theres no mistake? she interrupted. JCs eyebrows merged. Mistake? No, what are you talking about? I just- Ive never even been inside a house this magnificent, except for- let alone lived in one. My parents- Margots eyes darkened. JC noticed. My parents werent poor or anything, almost the contrary. They just liked to save and I never really had a very plush life. But this- this is mind-blowing. What did I do to deserve such luck? Her last thought was hardly spoken above a whisper, but JC had heard her. Her parents werent poor? What did she do to deserve such luck? And what about that whole deal on the plane when she was crying? I think I am utterly confused now JC blinked a few times before shaking his head quickly. He took a step closer to her and did nothing until she looked up. When she did, he took her small hand in his larger one and squeezed it reassuringly. Almost like that couple on the plane. Margot twitched her head slightly to the right, succeeding in throwing the thought out of her mind as she looked into JCs eyes. Light blue, she had never really noticed before. Looking into his eyes, she felt like she could almost see straight into his soul. She felt her own eyes soften at the tender look he was giving her but jumped when his voice began to flow through the room. Yes, it is incredible and no, theres no mistake. This was my place and my place alone for the next two months. But I met you and decided you might need even more of a vacation than I do, so I invited you to stay with me. And now, youre here. Are you ready to live the life of a movie star? Margot smiled and the far away look left her eyes. Her normal emerald sparkle was back, although JC though her to be everything but normal. She finally flashed him her pearly whites and JC felt himself grinning as well. Yes, I am. Good, now lets go on a tour of our new home! Margots eyebrows rose. Bob Villa, calm down before I have to beat you with you own hammer. He smiled even wider and simply pulled her arm. Come on Martha |
