Thursday 18th September
We camped overnight in Yosemite Valley, so woke up (late!) to a view that included the Half Dome that we had conquered yesterday.

Took things easy today as Wednesday had been quite tough. Had a short walk around Yosemite Falls - unfortunately they werent running at this time of year but I can well imagine that they must be spectacular earlier in the year.

Drove slowly out of the valley, stopping for a while at El Capitan. This is a sheer 3,500ft rock face that just looks absolutely immense. We saw (using binoculars!) at least 4 climbing teams who were absurdly high up the cliff face. Even I thought this looked insane!

On our way out of the park we stopped off at the Tulomne grove of giant sequoias - which, like everything else in Yosemite, have to be seen to be believed!

What an amazing place - it simply has to be visited to be truly appreciated, and Im sure that I will come back here one day as there is so much more to see and do....
