| Dead Or Alive 2 The game probably best remembered for its bouncy breast marketing gimmick, makes a return in the same bouncy style, but this time there is more to the gamplay too. The first game was a case of beach ball style breast bouncing and that is really all there was to it, apart from the fact you could reverse on coming attacks which was a really neat system, the genre needs originality that is for certain. The graphics of the first game were sadly not exactly polished either, but I suppose they did the job. DOA2 is certainly the other side of the coin in every aspect mentioned above, flaws ironed out, and some intresting new features.... Marketing does not come any more comical than this, as mentioned the womens breasts dance as they move around the rings. This is funny simply because of the way it is executed is laughable, I mean how many women do you see crossing the road with two beachballs under her chest, bouncing up and down, I do not see many, but hell this world gets weirder every day so who knows, but I'm telling you the time I see that is the time I will think I am going crazy, and ready for a strait jacket. If this feature sells this game, I'm afraid that you people are sad guys, really sad guys, but Tecmo guys think you need beachballs to sell this game, WRONG. There is more to this game then the last paragraph, OH YES!!!!!!!! 14 characters is poor perhaps, but these warriors have been crafted to ultimate perfection in looks and combat, they all look great with cleverly designed costumes, and carry an individual character each. For example take a look at Jann Lee, a Bruce Lee rip-off in every sense, some of his clothes are like the dragon's and his martial shout is a complete match, the squeal in his voice. The women fighters all wear skimpy clothes unsurprisingly, bearing flesh and underwear plus cleavages, not all women are like this Tecmo... The battle arenas are totally out of this world we live in, there are around 20, but I must explain a little more. These a not the normal run of the mill arenas, oh no! On the demons church scene, see those stain glass windows, well now you don't because you are flying at a frightening speed towards the courtyard ground below as your opponent has used a devastating move to smash you through that window. The arenas are proper 3D and I mean it when I say proper, most places you can see in the background you can get there during the fights, and down the drops such as waterfalls, through fences off cliffs etc. The scenes range from a cliff with a snow storm to churches and rooftops etc. Each scene shows a load of individuality, wind catches the fighters clothes, blowing realisticly, stronger on some stages then others due to the weather, or where it is at. The stages really are very cool!!!!!!!! The expanse of the areas is so big that a DVD disc was needed to fit it all on, no loading at all as you move from each arena section to the other. The camera also needs a mention as it is genius, always allowing you to see where you are and what's going on The graphics are also striking to the eye, with smooth surroundings and character models, they all have a shiny mood, and probably are the best graphics ever seen in a beat em up, all this and no loading to stop the action! |
