MEMBERS OF SIMEON

Nat: (vocals and temporary guitarist) "The range of my musical influences is very wide. From BM bands such as: Antestor, Slechtvalk, Vaakevandring, Battlelore, Cradle of Filth (being my biggest vocal influence),  Lengsel (which I first learned to scream to) and other bands like Crimson Thorn, Black Sabbath, and Jethro Tull. I also enjoy other styles of music such as Classical, Opera, Folk and Horror movie music. I am very much a fan of the talented music of Danny Elfman (composer for Edward Scissor Hands, Sleepy Hollow, Nightmare before Christmas, etc.) Other inspiration comes from my dad (Art) and Cynthia whom is my wife. Over all my inspiration is found through God, musically, lyrically, artistically and for simply going on in this dark world around us. I  received Christ into my heart on Easter in 1991, at six years old. I have strived to live for God since, exhibiting a pure and Holy life through him. I feel called into the ministry of music (metal) and my overall desire and goal in life is to please the Lord. I take pleasure in bible study, learning and revealing the great truths found in the Word of God. I enjoy hiking, caves, and nature (outdoors). I am especially fond of times when I get to spend time alone with God in the forest, this is when I feel closest to him. I also am an enthusiast of gothic and colonial architecture and clothing. I am a dark artist and an admirer of the art of Brom, Rembrandt, and Edward Gorey. My favorite artist is myself for I am the portrayer of my own thoughts, feelings and emotions. I am of coarse the biggest fan of Cynthia's artwork. She creates the most beautiful images I have ever seen next to the creations of God. Most of my time is spent with her and our cats.  Oh yeah, my hair length is currently at 2 ft. (just for those who might wonder)"

Nick: (drums) "When I was 16, I got into drumming. Started out with a 5 piece kit and have since built around the kit adding another bass drum, toms etc. However, I was also into Satanism very heavily, I remember many 'battles' I've had within mysel about good and evil, God, Jesus, demons etc. I remember feeling angels (the fallen ones included) around me constantly. Many people in churches were praying for me. I sank further into darkness and events in that time pushed suicide upon my mind. Then it finally hit me that Satan was out to destroy me. I began to read the Bible, it was very hard to accept for me because I had bought into Satan's lies. The truth was obscured to me. Persistence and prayer are all that got me through. I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and savior and was baptized. I hope to use all or any of my talents to bring anyone in the grasp of Satan out into the light and to show that Satan is a coward, a traitor, liar, filth, and is out to destroy you. Some of my hobbies when I'm not drumming are usually outdoors, camping, cat fishing, riding ATV's, and taking my jeep on some trail rides through the mountains. I love being outside breathing fresh air! Most of my musical influences came early from bands like Cannibal Corpse, Immolation, Emperor, Hecate Enthroned, but after I was saved I picked up Mordecai, Immortal Souls, Crimson Moonlight, Antestor, Slechtvalk and etc. Now I just strive to get my double bass alot faster and to stay focused with the band."

Art: (keyboard and piano) "My first musical influence as a young child was classical music. As a teen, I mostly focused on rock and early metal of the 60'sand 70's (especially Black Sabbath). I also enjoyed progressive rock and Appalachian blues. I have enjoyed most musical styles. I love many of the professional and local Christian musicians of recent years. I am highly supportive of any music  as an effort for Christ. The ministry and truth of the Word is more important than the music. The music is only the vehicle to carry the message. Among my musical influences are Black Sabbath, blues artist, Jefferson Airplane, Yes, Pink Floyd, Focus, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Gordon Lightfoot, Santana, Johnny Winter, Jethro Tull, Gramma Train and The Waiting. My Favorite all time Secular song is Easy Living, by Uriah Heep. I am relatively new to the more recent musical styles of Black and Death metal. A few of those bands I like are: Antestor, Vaakevandring and Crimson Thorn. I am 45 years old, born and have lived in Ashland, KY all of my life. I have been married to my wife, Linda, for over 26 years. We have a son of 20 years, Nat. I enjoy Bible study and revealing truths of the word that are not often spoken off. I also enjoy gardening and landscaping and my cats. My philosophy for life is: The present life is just preparation for eternity. There are two opposing forces, good and evil. Life has two sides (like a coin), the happy, light, warm, beautiful side, and the cold, harsh, sad, dark side. There is very little in-between. Both sides are necessary, and there is good and bad in both. The goodness of God somehow always out weighs the harshness and bitterness of the dark side. He is Lord over both. Christ is, always has been, and always will be victorious over evil, not as a crutch for the week minded, but as a true creator and savior through his death on the cross. He ever lives to intercede for us to God."

Cynthia: (bass) "There are many wonderful influences musically in my life from: CBM like Slechtvalk, Antestor, Lengsel (Extol) to a more mellow Anathema, Emerson Lake and Palmer and then Jethro Tull. After searching for many Tolkien fantasy BM bands from the early 90's to the present, my recent favorite band is Battlelore. I got to know and enjoy Operas in Austria, my favorite Classical composer is Wagner - I love to hear Marian Anderson sing as well. I think she is a true inspiration to women in music...which leads to my recently listened to bands as Nightwish, Tristania and Savior Machine.  My personal influences is serving God, then writers like Tolkien,  Goethe, and Sir Thomas Malory. Christian Fantasy has so great of an appeal to me, my life work is of a trilogy called Beyond Flesh. The 3 books bring the Bible to a Ethereal realm and is a allegorical testimony of the transgression of a sinner to maintaining a holy life.  At this time, I am presently in admiration of the usual fantasy artists in the vien of Gustave Dore. Ted Nasmith's fantasy work is my newest inspiration, but truly I am my favorite artist and designer. I spend a lot of time with my naughty cats, Nat, and my computer designing things. I dream of wild horses running free, appreciate technology and quiet evenings with my dearest family and friends..."
