The club was formed over 10 years ago with the name Hayley Badminton Club - so called because one of the founders lived in Hayley Bell Gardens. We are a mixture of male and female players, ranging in age from teenage to fifties, playing doubles. You will need to bring your own badminton racquet, though shuttles are provided.
Current fees are £25 for 3 months, or if you prefer to pay weekly, £3 per week for a 2-hour session. We try to play all year round, though sometimes there is a brief break in the summer holidays if we can't fill one court. We play primarily for fun on a Sunday evening from 6pm to 8pm in the Sports Hall at the Bishop's Stortford High School. Details of how to get there are on the 'Where are we?' page. The club has a regular attendance of enough people to fill two or three courts.
We would welcome new members of a reasonable standard (sorry, not beginners). If you are interested please contact us beforehand and let us know you want to come along. This is necessary to ensure that we have enough courts booked.
We also have a very popular junior club for ages 8 - 14 years approx which runs on Sundays from 5 pm to 6 pm. There is a waiting list for places - please contact Rennye Robbins (01279 833093) for more information.
