Computer Skills in Context

By Michael B. Eisenberg and Doug Johnson
This article starts with the consensus that technology is important and students need to be "computer literate".  With the meaningful use of technology in schools, integrating technology into the content areas, imbedded in a curriculum, students can acquire new ways for better organize, communicate, research and better be problem solvers, it is a great concept. However, many teachers don't have the right resources, infra-structure or time to help them to comply with the Big6 process. In spite of this gray situation, teachers must not give up. They need to be creative in working with the resources that are currently available to them, adapting them to better serve their students and better fit the situation they are working with.
