SHAPING AMERICA is a one-semester, college-credit course, focusing on the human story as well as the political and economic stories of America.  From first contact by Columbus to the Civil War and Reconstruction, this telecourse vividly illustrates how wars and treaties, elections, and legislation affected the people of the United States and helped develop America's democratic spirit.
