OLD EUROPEAN ROSES


***5 CLASSES OF OLD EUROPEAN ROSES***


1. ALBAS: usually white or blush pink with grey-blue foliage.

2.CENTIFOLIAS: also known as Cabbage Roses because of the multiude of petals in the blossoms.

3.DAMASKS: usually a rich pink hue although there are some white.

Two fragrant ones ones are the Insfahan (-1832)grows in Iran/Persia and the Kazanlik (-1850) grows in Bulgaria .

The Kazanlik rose produces much of the world's "Attar of Rose"...../center>


4.GALLICAS: these have more of a red tones and set hips quite well.
5.MOSSES: usually pink, these have fuzzy frickles on the flower buds.
