Copying Pixels

Note:  this involves a hard technique that is hard to describe.  If you’re having trouble, I would suggest looking for a background with fewer pixels involved.

Now it’s back to Screen 1.  See Sonic’s name?  We need to remove Sonic’s name and still remain a background.  To do this, zoom in to 800% and observe the area that is behind Sonic’s name.  Then move around the screenshot and look for the same set of pixels.  Sonic games usually have repeating backgrounds, so it is possible to find the exact same pixels in a different area of the screenshot.

I’ve located a similar set of pixels, as seen below.

I then copied this and then pasted it over Sonic’s name.

You may notice that the S has been left in the screenshot.  This is because the E will overlap the S without having any of the S showing.  I’ve now copied the word EGG to the document and lined up the E over the S to produce the following:

completed hoax

Now the hoax is complete!

The flame that is by the E may look a little strange, so if you like you can go back and add a few more pixels.  Just remember what the flame looked like before the S in Sonic was removed.  (A lot of the flames are straight on one side.)
