Information: Athair was destined to be the next guardian of the Floating Island, taking place of his mother Janelle-Li. However, Athair was called by the Ancient Walkers to act as the Mitre, or guide, for the descendants of the echidnas that left Echidnaopolis before it was raised into the sky. Athair became the only guardian ever to abandon his duties, which would later upset his great-grandson Knuckles the Echidna. In Athair’s place, Janelle-Li again acted as guardian.
Athair later gave into the soultouch (i.e. fell in love) and married Crystal-La. A son was soon born named Sabre. As the years passed, Athair continued his duties as Mitre and acted on behalf of the Ancient Walkers. His duties with the Ancient Walkers included making sure that Tails was indeed the Chosen One.
