| 6/30/04 - The capitol of Mirnoen, the currectly occupied country, has been discovered with walls surrounding the city. This city is of great strategic importance to the success of this campaign, as such ALL Imperium Forces are being massed outside the city walls. Our 405th is no exception. while little is known about the massive clash to take the city is known, we do know that once this campaign is over our 405th will be dispatched immediately to the Henker system to dispel with a tyranid threat. 7/13/04 - The Baslisks and Medusa Seige Tanks of the 405th have been massed outside the city walls along side such tanks of the Earonich 899th Armored, Yaanite 90th Armored and Dwiytu 1120th Artillery. The Plan of Attack is still in a major part unknown, but what is known is that the Basilisks will rain down long range barrages from a distanec no less than 1.5 miles out, taking out any targets withing a 300yds distance from the city wall, the actual wall being just barely behind this range, from approximately that same distance the Medusa tanks will lay down a heavier gauge of artillery shells designed to brings down fortifications. Air bases have been and are being set up back behind the frontlines in the captured territory, as well as Fire Support bases closer to the frontlines where Artillery will be placed once we have a foothold in the city, to cover this there will be mortar squads along the fighting lines. 8/1/04 - Today the Seige began. As of current the Artillery Shells are hitting their target zone. The wall of Mirnoen are standing strong, but as with all walls, they have limits on how much abuse they can take so the pounding will continue. 9/3/04 - The Wall broke, the 405th, along with the main components of the Yaanite 90th and the Earonich 899th stormed in past the wall to begin fighting to take the capitol. Maxwell himself going in with the first squad through the gap. The 405th and the Yaanites bore the brunt of the fighting, taking the ruins of what was a commercial tower to use as a comms base. Snipers were posted in the windows of some of the higher floors on these buildings to pick off Heretics further in the city and to provide support for units on the fire line. After fighting for every inch in the first mile of the city, the 405th established a base camp in a park they'd taken. After the first mile and a half was taken the heretic forces started to fight back harder, causing a stall in the advancing line. The fighting resumes on this stalled line. 10/14/04 - Battle reports have been scarce. But the battle rages on in Mirnoen. 10/29/04 - Cpt. Maxwell reported in, Half of Mirnoen has been taken. Unfortunately in the seige, A small regiment known as the Eagleheads (suspected to be the Earonich 950th) was wiped out. The 405th took moderate causualties in the advancing fray, but this shouldn't set them back. After the wounded are combat capable again, the 405th will team up with the 90th and the 899th again to press the heretics outside of the city walls. 2/1/05 - After months of fierce fighting, pushing and shifting lines Mirnoen was taken, and the lines were pushed to miles outside of the city.. With the city under control by Imperium forces again, the campaign will advance more rapidly. A regional control center has been set up in one of the skyscrapers in the center of the city. The city space/airport has been set up to accomodate Imperium aircraft. Accordingly, the 405th has brought in their bombers, fighters, etc. Raids into enemy territory are being planned by the 405th. These raids will be cooperative operations with the Yaaniteans, the Earonichies and various other forces including indiginous forces. |
